Presidents Message
Welcome to the website of the Wireless Association of South Hills or as we call our club WASH. I hope your visit gives you a good idea of what our club is about. We pride ourselves in being active contestors and dxer's as well as provide public service in the form of emergency communications and assisting community events.
We sponsor the WashFest hamfest every year in February, conduct VE testing four times a year, participate in Field Day from sometimes more than one site, and the same for the Pennsylvania QSO Party in early October. We also put on a 2 meter groundwave contest every January. Our members have diverse interests ranging from satellite communications, microwave kit building, meteor scatter, APRS, RACES and ARES, as well as good old rag chewing on HF.
Our most memorable event, along with Washington Amateur Communication, assisting Upper St. Clair High School with contacting Mike Finke on the International Space Station in late August 2004.
We are a pretty well rounded group but most of all we are friendly and welcome newcomers and old hands in amateur radio. To learn more about us, a recent copy of our monthly newsletter, the WASHRag is available to download from this website, or just email me at president@N3SH.org and I will be happy to answer your questions and tell you more about our club.
Better yet, why not attend our next club meeting. We meet every second Thursday of the month,
7:00 PM at Crossroad Ministries Church, 81 Walter Long Drive, Finleyville,
Pa 15332. We would love to meet you.
73,
Carol Danko
President
